Ms. Elizabeth Louise Comer, 63, of Girard, OH, transitioned from earth to eternal rest on Friday, May 22, 2026 at her home.
Ms. Comer was born August 22, 1962 in Youngstown, a daughter of John R. and Roberta Horne Comer. She was a 1974 graduate of Girard High School, where she participated as a majorette. She also received her BA degree in Psychology from Youngstown State University.
She had been employed as a child care provider for Trumbull County for 30 years, retiring in 2015. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Girard, and a volunteer for Thrive 1010, where she served as Board member and secretary. Elizabeth enjoyed singing, gardening, dancing, cooking, baking, TV classics, reading, and traveling. She was a mentor for others, a community advocate, and was an avid Cleveland Guardians and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Elizabeth leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, her daughter, Shayna Comer of Niles; a granddaughter, Aubrey L. Abron; her siblings, John R. (Gloria) Comer, Jr., Reginald L. Comer Sr., Beverly A. Daniels all of Youngstown, Priscilla Lewis of Niles, Obie L. Comer of Liberty Twp., and Deborah (David) Pavelko of Boardman, OH; and a host of family, church family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Willie Lou Horne.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, 111 Water Street, Girard, OH. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 noon.
