Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Avenue, for Mrs. Elaine Lula Bush, 84, of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
Mrs. Bush was born October 3, 1934 in Youngstown, a daughter of Lamie and Lula Womack Anderson. She was a 1952 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown State University. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, its choir director and musician, the Sunday School, and Mission Ministry. She was a former member of the YMCA Senior Fitness and Jewish Community Center; the NAACP and the Urban League. She had been employed at Strouss Dept. Store, Southside Hospital and music director with St. Andrewes AME Church and Union Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory a stepson, Johnny Bush, Jr. of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Bernice (Sunday) Faseyitan and Barbara “Jackie” Kennedy; a brother, Julius (Nancy) Anderson; grandson, Montario Bush; a godson, Olufunsho Faseyitan; nieces and nephews, Yolanda Olivers, Terrance Olivers, Kurnita Kennedy, Gary Anderson, and Nachel Anderson; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Robinson; and second husband, John Bush.
Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
