Edith Wallace Obituary

            Mrs. Edith Wallace, 103, of Youngstown was escorted by a host of Angels to her heavenly home on Monday, August 26, 2024 at her home.

            Mrs. Wallace was born September 16, 1920 in Findlay, OH, the daughter of Thomas and Irene Adams.  A devoted and loving homemaker, Edith was keen on education and with a sharp mind, she became a prolific reader.  She was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, where she served as a counselor, teacher, prayer partner, lay leader and an active card ministry.  She enjoyed cooking, traveling, art, reading the scriptures and was a prayer warrior.  But above all, her passion was being with her family.

            She leaves to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life and legacy; two daughters, Rita Wagner and Linda (Bishop James) Tyson; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Ronald Echols; daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Annie Wallace; her prayer partners beside Bishop Tyson was Pastor Kent Barrett Barnes, Jr.; and a host of loving family and friends.

            Besides her father; and mother, Irene Drake, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold, who passed away in 1997; four children, Melvin, Frederick, and Harold Wallace, and Patricia Echols; and her son-in-law, Bishop Norman L. Wagner.

            Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1812 Oak Hill Ave., Yo., OH.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.

            Ministry of love, comfort and dignity entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
