Ms. Doris Jean Hunter, 86, of Youngstown, departed this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Ms. Hunter was born May 18, 1939 in Youngstown, a daughter of Richard and Louise Heath King. She was a 1957 graduate of The Rayen School. Doris was a member of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church and a member of the usher ministry. She loved to cook, bake, read, shop, travel, and was Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She had been employed with Fresh Mark in Quality Control, retiring after over 25 years of service.
She leaves to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life and legacy, two children, Rodney Hunter of Waco, TX and Rhonda (David) Clark of Temple, TX; three grandchildren, Ebony, Ivy and Saquonne Clark all of Texas; two great grandchildren, Jaden and Avianna; two sisters, Geraldine Grizzard and Victoria King both of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly King and Eva King.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
