Doris Elaine Davis of Washington, DC was born in Youngstown, Ohio, November 10, 1930, the fourth child of Eugene and Otelia Simmons Davis. A graduate of The Rayen School, she also matriculated at Youngstown State University and Villanova University, earning Bachelors and Masters degrees, respectively, in Education.
She taught for many years and eventually became the principal of Cole Manor Elementary School until she retired. She helped many students to realize their educational goals.
She was active in the community and at Siloam Baptist Church, where her husband, Rev. William R. Harris, had been the pastor for many years. They were married in 1955 and were the parents of two daughters, Elaine Jeanne and Pauline Marie.
She was able to travel to Africa, India and Cuba as an educational ambassador. She was a world traveler and was known for baking delicious desserts.
Pauline transitioned from this life on February 12, 2025. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her extraordinary life, her daughter, Pauline and a host of relatives, friends, and students.
