Mr. Dock Mays 73 of Youngstown transitioned to eternal rest on July 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Dock was born April 27, 1951, in Youngstown. a son of the late Dock Sr. and Leora Scott Mays. He was a graduate of East High School, employed at The Sheet & Tube. He owned and operated Dock’s Auto in Youngstown, Ohio. Dock was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed having car shows at his shop in Youngstown, going to Swap meets, racetracks and taking pictures. Dock was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memory his sisters: Virginia Mays and Nisi Mays both of Youngstown. A host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, other family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Frances Foster, JoAnn Sims; his brother, Fred Mays; and the love of his life, Sandra Ivory Mays.
The Mays family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Austinwoods Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care for Dock.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home where a celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
