Diane Griffin

Diane Griffin was born to Birdie Mae and Richard Griffin Sr. on January 17, 1952.  She is the third of six children and was affectionately referred to as “Di”.  You could often find her lovingly fussing at her family, completing a crossword puzzle, whipping up a hot meal, and making sure her home was spotless.  She was a selfless caretaker and a fiercely independent woman who showed up for those she loved.  She will be remembered as an incredible daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt.

            She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Gail (Damon) West, Dawn Griffin, and Tori Griffin; her baby sister, Yolonda “Yo-yo” Griffin; and her brothers, Jerome “Hank” Griffin and Richard “Smitty” (Denise) Griffin Jr.; nieces, Natalie Rainge, Dana Gregory, Melinda (Larry) Phillips, Sheena Griffin, Kierra Butler, Aisha (Kevin) Price, Angell White and Sydney Griffin; nephews, Timothy Wiley, Arthur Rainge Jr., Terry Rainge, Rodney Rainge, Aquila Blue, Todd Griffin, Richard Griffin III, Justice Griffin, Keith Butler, Jr., Akii Butler, and Troy Griffin Jr.; grandchildren, Kyauna, Gabrielle, Dana, and Kenya Hopkins, Diamond, Daraysha, Aireonia, Damon Jr., and Damone West, Demetria Griffin, Katlyn and Keo Griffin-Blount, and a host of great grandchildren great nieces and nephews.

            She is preceded in death by her parents, Birdie Mae and Richard Griffin Sr.; her son, David Jerome Grifffin; great granddaughter, Laila Clark; grandparents, Katie and Will Bell, and Cornelia “Ella” Griffin; her sisters, Cornelia “Lois” Rainge and Annette Griffin; nephews, Jeffrey Rainge Sr. and Troy Griffin Sr.  She was received at Heaven’s Gate by a host of aunts, uncles and loved ones.

            Funeral services were already held.
