On December 1, 2025, Deborah Ann Clarett of Youngstown, Ohio passed on from this life into the next. Deborah was a graduate of Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree, and worked as a substitute teacher for a time in both Youngstown and Cleveland school systems. Deborah was also a seamstress and loved working in arts and crafts, which she did for much of her life, leaving her mark in the homes of many who admired the beauty of her creations. Deborah was most of all a deeply compassionate caregiver willing to open her arms and home to many who needed help for almost any reason.
Deborah was preceded in death by her grandmother Dorothy Warren; parents, Alfred Clarett Sr. and Mary Florence Clarett; grandson, Deon Sanders; and granddaughter, D'stiny Clarett.
Deborah is survived in life by her siblings, Alfred Clarett Jr., Gregory Clarett Sr., and Cathy Brown; children; LeLaura Lynn Clarett, Rachel Clarett-Garrett, and Derrick Clarett; grandchildren, Tashala, DeAngelo, DeNezha, D'yanna, Osheana, and Nyasia; and great-grandchildren, Deon, James, and C'Honesty.
Deborah will also continue to live on in the hearts and memories of many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who count to numerous to name here, that have been witness to her kindness, love, generosity, humor and deeply warm and welcoming nature. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m.
