David Lee Thurston

            Mr. David Lee Thurston, 77, of Youngstown, transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, April 3, 2026 with his family at his side.

            Mr. Thurston was born October 1, 1948 in Youngstown, a son of Sylvester Sr. and Sarah McQuarter Thurston.  He was a 1966 graduate of North High School and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.  He had been employee with L. T. V. Steel for many years, retiring in 2016.  He enjoyed grilling and watching T.V.

            He leaves to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his life and legacy, his mother, Sarah Thurston of Youngstown; three brothers, Calvin and Johnny both of Youngstown, and Robert of Campbell; and a host of loving family and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his Father, Sylvester Sr.; two brothers, Sylvester Thurston, Jr. and Burnett Thurston; two sisters, Betty Thurston and one infant sister.

            Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown, OH.
