Mr. David Michael Lawrence, 76, of Youngstown, transitioned from this earthly tabernacle to his eternal home on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at his home with his family at his side.
Mr. Lawrence was born March 17, 1949 in Youngstown, a son of Brawley L. and Lavenia James Lawrence. He was a 1968 graduate of North High School and went on to complete courses to become a journeyman plumber. He was a former member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. David was a 32 degree Mason and Past Worshipful Master with Covenant Lodge # 59. He enjoyed “tinkering” with electronic items and a little bit of everything else. He also like to play chess, ride motorcycles, fish, swim and garden. David was a U. S. Navy veteran who had received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star.
He leaves to cherish his memory five children, David K. (Erica) Lawrence, Michael B. Lawrence Sr. (Vanessa) and Marvetta Lawrence all of Youngstown, Kendall D. (Brandy) Lawrence and Justin Lawrence both of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; ten siblings, Anthony (Henrietta) of Campbell, Robert (Everly) and Donald both of Georgia, Phillip, Roger, Stephen, Victor (Brenda) and Eric Lawrence all of Youngstown, Cheryl Kebe of North Carolina, Sandra Laurson of Youngstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife the former Jeanette Cole whom he married August 23, 1970 and who passed away November 27, 2000; and two brothers, Benjamin, Charles Boyd and Major Lawrence.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road, Youngstown. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
