Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Daron L. Williams, 54, of Youngstown who departed this life Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
Mr. Williams, lovingly known as “Daye” was born October 2, 1963 in Portland, Arkansas, a son of Rogers Gipson, Sr. and Lillie Williams Lewis. He was a 1981 graduate of East High School and was employed with the Eastway Terrace Apartments. He was a member of New Life In Christ Ministries. Daron was a quiet, unassuming person who loved helping others. He loved basketball and was an avid Chicago Bulls fan.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memories four children, Dacia Williams, Daron “D.J.” Williams, Jr., Aaron Williams, Sr. and Britnay Parker all of Columbus; five grandchildren, Danasia, Carter, MiPrincess, Dashavon, Aaron, Jr.; eight sisters, Doris (Leroy) Gipson, Nancy (Joe) Frazier, Sr. and Alberta Hampton all of Youngstown, Lizzie (Cleveland) Caldwell of Struthers, Debra Cobbins of Liberty Twp., Vivian (Marshall) Rogers of Little Rock, Arkansas, Willie Jean Johnson of Monroe, LA, and Rosetta Brown of Toledo; three brothers, James C. (Jewelean) Lewis, Sr. of Youngstown, Howard (Joyce) Lewis II and Roosevelt (Rose Mary) Lewis, Sr. both of Little Rock, Arkansas; his long-time companion, Juanita Peace; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lillie Godfrey, LeAndrew Lewis, LeRoy Lewis, Ozell Lewis and Willie Lewis.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
