Daniel Leroy Mitchell, Jr.

Mr. Daniel Leroy Mitchell Jr., 69 departed this life May 15, 2025 at Park Vista Nursing Home. Mr. Mitchell was born August 19, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Daniel Sr. and Willa Mae Vaughn Mitchell. He attended Triumph, The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, where he played Lead Guitar, Drums, sang in the Choir and his Family Gospel Group. He loved fishing, playing music and being with family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of eight years Kathryn Jones Mitchell; his children; Shannon Carter, Daniel Wiggins, Lation Branch, Sheona Jones, Leonard Carter, Tyrone Jennings, Kamila and Shanika all of Youngstown; and Derek Carter of Erie, Ohio; His siblings; Barbara Jean Smith, Sharon Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell and Maurice Mitchell all of Boston, MA.; Rebecca Mitchell and Missy Taylor of Atlanta, GA.; Evangelist Connie (Richard) Weaver of Campbell, OH.; Robert (Mary) Taylor; Anthony Taylor and Brenda Mitchell all of Youngstown, OH and Willie Mitchell of Huber Heights, OH; a favorite Uncle Billy Washington, a host of Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren; Eleyan Rose Henderson and Alex Carl Henderson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Evangelist Eula Mitchell, Bishop William Taylor, Michael Mitchell; Step-son Raymond Jones; two nephews, Kennon and Sammy Mitchell. Services will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road, Youngstown, OH. with calling hours 1:00-2:00pm and funeral services starting at 2:00pm. Services of Love and dignity entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden funeral Home.
