Constance Rodgers Obituary

Constance Marie “Connie” Rodgers, age 72, was born on August 5, 1953, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late John Rodgers and Margaret Duval. Connie peacefully passed away on November 23, 2025, at her home.

Connie graduated from The Rayen High School in 1971, a milestone she was always proud of. She went on to build a long and accomplished career with General Motors, where she worked for over 35 years. During her time there, she served as President of the local UAW Women’s Committee, demonstrating leadership, strength, and a deep commitment to supporting others.

A proud and devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers—truly die-hard—Connie brought passion and loyalty into everything she did.

A woman of strong faith, Connie was a dedicated member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the Usher Board, sang in the choir, and was active in several other ministries. Her presence in the church community was filled with love, service, and joyful praise.

Connie lived a vibrant and fulfilling life. She loved traveling, singing, and line dancing—activities that reflected her energetic spirit. Throughout her journeys and adventures, she had the opportunity to meet numerous famous athletes, actors, and musicians, experiences she treasured deeply. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and friends, always ready to help, support, and uplift those she loved.

Connie is survived by her sons, Carlos Harris of Dallas, TX, and Michael Hurt of Austintown, OH, who lovingly cared for her daily; and by her niece, Margaret “Lanna” Jones, whom she reared. She is also survived by two brothers, George Duval of Warren, OH, and Vernon (Robin) Rodgers of Lorain, OH; as well as her uncle, Colonel Aaron (Jan) Duvall. Connie leaves behind an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and a host of cherished friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Helen Rodgers-Jones; her nephew, Tommy Jones; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Connie’s love, strength, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held for Connie on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.
