Cleola Jones, departed this life on February 24, 2024 in Youngstown Ohio. She was born on December 22, 1951 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Mary Louise Jones and Cleophas Slade. A community pillar and graduate of Youngstown State University. She held her Associates Degree in Applied Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She participated in many community events and outreach programs.
Cleo was known for being there for others. She was always encouraging others to live their best life. She was a strong and loving woman and loved by many people. She had a deep love for movies “Rocky”, music, reading and gardening.
Cleo was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Jones and her father, Cleophus Slade; and her son-in-law, Kerry Byes.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory her daughters, Tina Clark & her husband, George Clark Jr, Nicole Byes; her sons, William Slade, and Keith Slade; her brothers, Sheldon Slade, William Bell, John Bell, Norman Slade, James Slade; her grandchildren, Damion Clark, Paris Clark, Bailey Rae Slade; and seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
As we say our goodbyes to Cleo Jones today let us remember the love, laughter, and precious moments we shared together. May her memory live on in our hearts forever, and may we find solace in knowing that she is now at peace.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2 p.m. at L. E. Black Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd. Youngstown, OH
