Barbara Jean Jefferson

Ms. Barbara Jean Jefferson 79, transitioned to eternal peace at her daughters home on March 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born December 22, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Edward and Mattie Brisbane Alexander. She was a former employee at the Youngstown Vindicator. She loved being with family especially her grandchildren and great-grand-children. She enjoyed going to casinos and playing bingo.

She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy; five children, Darnell (Jennifer) Pough of Lawrenceville, GA., Michelle Pough of Covington, GA., Damon (Tiffany) Jefferson of Akron, OH; Tanya Jefferson and Crystal Jefferson both of Youngstown; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tyrone Jefferson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday March 12, 2024, at L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home followed by a celebration of Barbara’s life and legacy beginning at 11:00 a.m.
