Angel DeLeon Obituary

Angel Luis DeLeon, age 72, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at Hospice of the Valley, surrounded by love and family.

Angel was born on January 23, 1953, at Hospital Municipal de Río Piedras in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, to his beloved parents, Carmen Suárez (affectionately known as Yiya) and Angel Luis DeLeon Sr.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Iris DeLeon, and his cherished children: Angel, Blanca, Omar, Anamaria, Luis Angel, Gloria, Carmen, Jennifer, and Yadiel. Angel was a proud and loving grandfather to Angel, Samantha, Ariana, Annette, Luis Michael, Jordan, Luis Manuel, Angel Armani, Nathaniel, Iyanna, Iriane, Arielis, Victor, Jaylene, Jayson, Jayden, Kayla, and Nuni; and his brother, Hector Luis DeLeon Suarez. His grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he found his greatest happiness in being present for their important moments.  Angel also leaves behind two very close friends who were truly family to him, Hector and Pucho, whose friendship meant the world to him.

He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved son, Luis Angel DeLeon; his mother, Carmen Suárez; his father, Angel Luis DeLeon Sr.; and brother, Lluis Alberto DeLeon Suarez

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Angel had a personality that lit up every room he entered. His laughter, silliness, and joyful spirit were contagious, and being around him always brought warmth and smiles. He dedicated his life to honest work, spending many years in construction, home repair, remodeling, home improvement, and plumbing. He was known for his strong work ethic, generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others whenever he could.

In his early years, Angel was a passionate musician. He deeply loved music and enjoyed playing traditional Puerto Rican instruments, including the timbales and the güiro. He especially loved being part of holiday parrandas, where his love for music, dancing, and celebration truly shined. One local Puerto Rican restaurant once described him as “a customer who became family,” a reflection of how easily Angel formed meaningful connections wherever he went.

Angel was a man of strong Catholic faith. He trusted deeply in God and lived his life guided by love, service, and devotion to his family. His faith, family values, and pure love for his children and grandchildren defined who he was.

Angel Luis DeLeon will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing and loving him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
