Amanda Quarles Obituary

Amanda LaKayla Joy Quarles

Amanda LaKayla Joy Quarles of Vienna, Ohio went to her eternal rest on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 after years of chronic illness.

Amanda was born August 16, 1999 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Dr. Ruth Quarles.   She was a graduate of Mathews High School/TCTC Programs.  Her plan was to enroll in the military to serve her country until illness derailed this goal.  Amanda was very gifted and had a talent for music.  Using her piano lesson as a stimulus, she learned how to play the flute in band and subsequently learned the clarinet and other instruments.  She grew up in Rising Star Baptist Church where she participated in a number of ministries including Sunday school, Junior Ushers, audio ministry, and the yearly Easter production.  She professed a love for Christ and was baptized at Rising Star.  Amanda learned to read by the age of 3 and had a lifelong love of books.  She also got into writing Fan Fiction on the internet.  She enjoyed traveling and did so extensively in her early years.  She demonstrated marked acumen in computer coding and was highly intelligent.  She researched how to train a service animal and trained Knox the shelter puppy she adopted.

Amanda had a number of jobs but the one that left the greatest impression on her and gave her the most satisfaction was the time she spent at Belmont Pines working on the children’s wing. She was currently working on getting a Nursing Degree.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children Leilani Dream and James Henry, her mother Dr. Ruth Quarles, a sister Mariah Quarles, aunt Dr. Debbie Quarles, god-parents Drs. Brandon and Lauren Barton, a great host of family, friends adopted aunts and uncles and others who loved her greatly.

So that Amanda’s short life continues to have meaning, we are asking in lieu of flowers that you make donations to the following local scholarship funds:  The Youngstown Chapter of Links, Incorporated Scholarship Fund for high school graduates (P O Box 64, Youngstown, Oh 44501) or Women Hand in Hand Scholarship Fund to help mothers complete their college education (1290 Stonington Drive, Youngstown, Oh 44505).

Visitation will be on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave, Yo., OH., 44505. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
