Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the New Bethel Baptist Church for Mr. William Howard McGaha, 97, of Youngstown, who departed this life Saturday, August 19, 2018.
Mr. McGaha was born May 12, 1921, a son of Jess Henry and Ora Harrell McGaha. He had been employed as a shearman with LTV – Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 24 years retiring December 29, 1979. He was a member of Steelworkers Local – S.O.A.R. 1462 and The Donald Lockett VFW Post 6488. He was a faithful member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and was a WWII U. S. Army veteran.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memories, three daughters, Diane McGaha, Deborah McGaha and Nancy McGaha all of Youngstown; seven sons, Melvin of Baldwin, Mississippi, Jimmy, Charles, and Lavance all of Youngstown, Robert (Starr), and Darrin Turnage of Minnesota; a sister, Luberta Spencer of Youngstown; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry; siblings, Willie Mae Burress, Nancy Mae Welch, Leonard Whiteside, Leroy McGaha, Lizzie Bell McGaha, Houston McGaha and J. C. McGaha; a granddaughter, L’Ruthilyn “Leelee” McGaha.
