Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Grace Evangelistic Temple, 2214 Mahoning Ave., for Mother Treesa Mae Jenkins who transcended to her Heavenly home on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
Mother Jenkins was born August 15, 1930 in Sweet Water, Alabama. a daughter of Walter and Ruby Agee Pritchett. A loving and devoted homemaker, she was a member of Grace Evangelistic Temple COGIC where she served on the Mother’s Board, Pastor’s Aide, Women’s Ministry, and was a Worship Leader.
She leaves to cherish her memory, but rejoice in her peace, her son Apostle Chorrethers Sr. (Rev Stephanie) Jenkins; daughters, Swannie (Artimus) Scissum, Georgia West, Cecelia (Henry) Gillam, Deborah Stevenson, Jacqueline (Tyrone) Welch; three brothers, Matthew (Mamie) Pritchett of Youngstown, Dan Pritchett of New York and Bennie Pritchett of California, her twin sister, Ernestine Freeman of Youngstown; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband of 69 years, Roy Emmanuel Jenkins, whom she married October 27, 1947 and who passed away July 31, 2017; she was preceded in death by a daughter Gwendolyn D. Bunkley; a sister, Christine Cooper; two brothers, Luther and Arthur Pritchett; and her grandson, Ivan “DeMorris” West.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Monday (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.) at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
