Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2018 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for Mr. Thomas James Tubbs, Sr., 75, of Weathersfield, OH, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at St. Joseph Select Hospital in Warren.
Mr. Tubbs, who was lovingly known as “Tommie” was born April 7, 1943 in Toomsuba, Mississippi, a son of Tommie Lee and Mildred Reed Tubbs. He attended East High School. Tommie had been employed as a supervisor with Towel Supply for over 30 years. After leaving Towel Supply he was employed with Cintas G & K Company in Sharon for a few years and with the McGuffey Centre for over 5 years.
He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Trustee Ministry, President and founder of the Willing Workers – Breakfast Ministry, the Culinary and Finance Ministries. Tommie helped wherever and whenever he was needed. He loved cars, cooking, and grilling.
He leaves to cherish his memory and to rejoice in his heavenly peace, his mother, Mildred Pack of Campbell; his devoted wife of 46 years, the former Luberta Moncrief, whom he married September 16, 1972; a daughter, Rhonda Tubbs of Youngstown; two sons, Thomas Tubbs, Jr. of Youngstown and Terrence (Yolonda) Tubbs of Georgia; two brothers, George Pack of Campbell and David Tubbs of Canton; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of family, church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; siblings, Robert Tubbs, Bessie Pack, Josette Tubbs and Angie Tubbs.
