Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Thomas Eugene Hilton, 78, of Youngstown, who departed this life Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Canfield Health Care Center.
Mr. Hilton, affectionately known as “Gene”, was born January 6, 1940 in Youngstown, a son of Daniel and Emma Boone Hilton. He was a self-employed semi-truck fleet owner; and was a member of the Masonic order. Gene enjoyed fishing, music, playing the guitar, and watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball games. He was the family fixer and a U. S. Army veteran.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, ten children, Wilma Jean Savage of Charlotte, NC, Anthony E. (Deborah) Hilton, Alicia L. (Keith) Lawrence, Ron Carl Hilton, Jecquin Hilton and Labreah Hilton all of Youngstown; Lorenzo Hilton of New Jersey, Dawn Hilton of Burlington, NJ, Celina (Eric) Gardenhire of North Olmstead, and Tomaz Hilton of Cincinnati; 34 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Shirley (Robert) Redman of Douglasville, GA and Elizabeth (Daniel) Wudske of Maple Heights; two brothers, Carl (Linda) Hilton of New Castle, PA and Ronnie (Betty) Hilton of Rochester, NY; and a “True Friend and Brother”, Arthur Mendenhall. He also leaves a special niece, Emayatzy Corinealdi-Oliver of California; and three nephews, Rafael Redman of Maryland, Brandon Redman of Ohio, and Eduardo Corinealdi, Jr. of California; and a host of other family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemarie “Chickie” Corinealdi.
Visitation will be from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
