Funeral services for Ms. Thelma Moore, 78, will be held at noon on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Victory Christian Center- Coitsville Campus. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 21 at Mercy Health-Youngstown.
Ms. Moore was born August 27, 1939 in York, Ala., to the late Jeff Hill and Jessie Mae Cooper. She was the oldest of three children. Thelma attended school in York and was employed at General Motors-Lordstown where she retired as a welder in 1990, after more than 27 years of employment. Ms. Moore was a faithful member of Victory Christian Center and ministered to others as a member of the intercessory prayer team. Thelma loved ceramics and was a Master Creative Artist creating many beautiful pieces. She loved traveling with a passion and had enjoyed the sights of Spain, Morocco and Ghana, just to name a few. She had an eye for and collected beautiful artwork. Thelma loved good food and enjoyed fine wine.
She doted on her family and friends and relished the time spent with them.
Thelma’s most “favorite” things were: prayer, reading the Word and praising God! She truly loved the Lord!
She leaves to mourn, but rejoice her memory, two daughters, Tonia Moore of Youngstown and Annette Thomas of Columbus; two sons, Henry Moore of Columbus and Dave Williams of Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Dwayne Gilmore, Marie Files, Bradley Thomas, O’Brien Pierce, Malik (Davon) Williams, Keisha, Henry and Cortez Moore; three great-grandchildren, Dwayne, Nalashia and Isiah; two nephews, Douglas and Andrew Hill; two nieces, Lynn Hill and Regina Comer-Balog; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clarence Hill; a sister, Delores Comer; and a daughter, Gaynelle Moore Kennedy.
Friends may on Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
