Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Solomon Clay III, 56, of Youngstown, who departed this life Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Clay was born April 26, 1962 in Youngstown, a son of Solomon Jr. and Evelyn McKinney Clay. He had worked at Northstar Steel. He was a former member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing, auto mechanics, helping others, landscaping and grilling. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed wrestling.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Evelyn; two sons, Solomon Clay IV, and Phillip S. Crawford; two brothers, Thomas and Frank Clay all of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren; stepchildren, Matthew Johnson and Elijah Johnson both of Campbell, Shaniquah Ervin, Tanisha Bray, Avery Gales, Andrea Dubois and Glenn Ervin all of Youngstown; a special friend, Sabrina Burkes; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
