Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Antioch Baptist Church for Ms. Rosetta Weaver, 77, of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Friday, November 9, 2018.
Ms. Weaver, lovingly known as “Rose”, was born May 4, 1941 in Montgomery, Alabama, a daughter of Arthur and Mahalia Robinson Moncrief. She was former member of the Morning Star Baptist Church. She was also a former treasurer of the Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, reading, social games, dancing, shopping and being with her beloved family.
Ms. Weaver was married to the late Rev. John Weaver Sr. and in this union, they had 8 children.
She leaves to mourn her passing, but to rejoice in her peace, seven children, Gertrude Denson, Darnell Weaver, and Mahalia Weaver all of Columbus, John (Sharon) Weaver of Warren, Willie E. Weaver of Youngstown, Rancine (Bobby) Luckett of Gilbert, Arizona, and Loretta A. (Luciano) Desjarins of Mesa, Arizona; 28 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces (including Angeletta Moncrief of Columbus who was like a daughter to her), nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Besides her father; her mother, Mahalia Gardner, she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Weaver; and a sister, Gloria Moncrief Smith.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
