Services will be 12:00 noon Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Phillips Chapel C.O.G.I.C. for Rev. Georgia Harris, 96, of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

            Rev. Mrs. Harris was born June 29, 1920 in Tarytown, Georgia, a daughter of Claxton, Sr.  and Vela Mosley Phillips.  She was a graduate of Mosleytown School system, and then went on to become a teacher in that system.  She was a former First Lady at the New Bethel C.O.G.I.C. in Youngstown; was Pastor Emeritus at Full Gospel Church of God in Campbell; and attended Phillips Chapel C.O.G.I.C. until her health failed.  She was a prayer warrior and ministered to many from her home.  She loved gardening, flowers, singing and children.  She was known as the “Community Grandma”.

            Her legacy will forever be remembered by her children, Forest (Helen) Hall, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Marshall (Kusana) Hall of Youngstown and Rosie Pierce of Florida; her stepchildren, James E. Harris, Jeremiah (Ruth) Harris, David (Frances) Harris and Joshua Harris II all of Youngstown; sisters, Omega (Edward) Snyder of Youngstown, Shirley Stokes of Macon, GA, Gwen (Mack) LeGrant, Oveda Phillips and Patricia Phillips both of Vidalia, GA; brothers, Cohen Phillips of Warren, OH, Samuel Phillips of Florida, Floyd Phillips and Joe (Claudia) Phillips of Vidalia, GA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elder Forest Hall, Sr.; her second husband, Rev. Joshua Harris, Sr.; children, Moses, Jonathan, Daniel, Joe, Doris Watkins and Clara Harris; siblings, Naomi Loggins, Josephine Walton, Rev. Josephus, Claxton, jr., Tony, Cobie and Noble Phillips.

            A musical memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Phillips Chapel C.O.G.I.C.,   Jacobs Road, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Viewing will be Monday, July 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
