Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Nathaniel Edward Moncrief, 41, of Austintown who entered eternal rest on Monday, April 9, 2018. Rev. J. Dwayne Heard will be officiating the service
Nathaniel, lovingly known as “Nate”, was born August 26, 1976 in Youngstown, a son of “Jazz” and Annie M. Mitchell Moncrief. He was a 1995 graduate of Chaney High School where he was recognized for All City Football 1993 – 1995, attended Thiel College and New Castle School of Trades.. He drove for Sebastian Trucking for over 12 years and was presently a truck driver for Pilot Travel Centers. He was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was baptized and served under the leadership of the late Rev. Joe Bankston. Nate also served as Youth Director for the Center for Community Empowerment for three years. Nate loved driving his 18 wheeler tank truck; and enjoyed collecting watches, playing golf, was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and most of all loved being with his family.
He leaves to forever cherish his precious memories, his parents; two daughters, Kambria Moncrief of Indianapolis, IN and Katlin Moncrief of California; a brother, Jermaine Moncrief of Youngstown; his aunt, Vickey Williams of Struthers who helped to rear him; friends who were like brothers, Clyde Morgan of Indiana, Ronald “Tweed” Denson, Antonio “Ton” Hardy, best buddy, Trina Sims, and special friend, Keisha Felder all of Youngstown; godfather, Dea. Freddie Leonard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including Rev. Allen Brown of Calument, Illinois who was like a big brother, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Moncrief; grandparents, Tom and Bessie Lee Brown Mitchell, and John and Alberta Moncrief
Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
