Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for Mrs. Maud Lee Hooks, 100, of Youngstown, who went home to glory on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Mrs. Hooks was born January 31, 1918 in York, Alabama, a daughter of Frank and Emma McNeal Nicholson. Maud was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed shopping, gardening, traveling and the enjoyment of her family. She had been a long time member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She leaves her legacy to be remembered by her children, Doris Hunt and Robert (Deborah) Hooks both of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Hooks, Jr.; her daughter, Shirley Bankhead; granddaughter, Erin Bankhead; grandson, Robert K. Bufford; great grandson, Bryan Hunt; and eight siblings.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
