Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, for Mr. Jessie L. Palmer, 67, who departed this life Sept. 5, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Palmer was born Sept. 8, 1949, in Youngstown, a son of Moselle Dawson and Bernice Kennedy Palmer.

He was a 1969 graduate of South High School. He had been employed by Star Extrusion Shapes as a die needer and band tail stretcher, retiring in 2013, and had also been employed with Ziebart Auto Painting for 13 years. He loved collecting working on and painting old cars. His favorite car was the 57 Chevy. He loved watching old westerns, but most of all, he loved spending time with his children and family.

He leaves to cherish his memories and rejoice in his peace, his wife, Patricia Neely Palmer; his children, Gregory, Tanjila, Jessica and Lamont Palmer, all of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ann Willis; and a brother, James Kennedy.

Friends may call one hour prior to the services 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
