Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Jeffrey Lee Brown, Sr., 60, of Youngstown, who transitioned to his Heavenly home on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Brown was born April 9, 1958 in Youngstown, a son of Edgar C. and Cillar Sheffield Brown. He was a graduate of Leonard Kirtz School and had been employed in the receiving department at Goodwill for over 20 years; maintenance with the Royal Oaks and MVR Restaurants; and The Purple Cat. He was a faithful member of Gospel Baptist Church, its Adult Bible Class and bus ministry. He was active with the Special Olympics, loved hockey, was an avid Golden State Warriors Basketball, Cleveland Browns and YSU Sports fan. He also loved biking, and music.
He leaves to mourn his passing, but rejoice in his heavenly peace, his father; a son, Jeffrey L. Brown, Jr.; a granddaughter, J’Kaylien Brown; three sisters, Mary T. (Eddie) Tucker, Renay Brown and Michelle (Gerald) Clark; two brothers, Deometric and Gary Brown; his niece and caregiver, Jalynn Brown all of Youngstown; and a host of other family, church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
