Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22,2018 at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 Tenth Street, Campbell, for Mrs. Jacqueline B. Higgs Gore, 72, of Campbell, who passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jacqueline was born January 25, 1946 in New Castle, PA, a daughter of William Owens and DeElka Higgs Burnett and was reared by her stepfather Omar Burnett. She was a 1963 graduate of New Castle Senior High School, and received her data entry certification from IBM. Jacqueline moved to Campbell in 1964 and was employed by the Campbell City School System, retiring after 23 years of service. She also worked as a cook at several restaurants in the Youngstown area, including the Colonial House and Silver Mirror.
On October 7, 1964, Jacqueline married Earl Gore, Sr., who passed away on May 14, 2013.
She was a member of Great Liberty Baptist Church, where she served as president of the usher ministry and was a member of the culinary ministry. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, casino trips, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Jackie was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a member of the Progressive Women’s Democratic club of Campbell where she served as vice president.
Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memory four children, Robert (Theresa) Gore of Liberty, LaRona Lynn Gore of Campbell, John (Kristy) Gore of Boardman, and Steven Gore of Campbell; 10 grandchildren, Greg (Alea) Harrison, Myra, Robyn, Ashley, Dominic, Joshua, Jordan, Parker Nicholas, Sharnae, and Jordyn; seven great grandchildren, Olivia, Vincent, Joseph, Ayla, Ayris, Antonio and Aleena; a sister, Margaret Rivers of Youngstown; a brother, Robert (Margie) Burnett of New Castle, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Earl Gore, Jr.; and a brother, Robert Robinson, Sr.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
