Gloria Jean "Bun Bun" Croom-London

Services will be 11:00am Monday August 27, 2018 at Reed’s Chapel A.M.E. Church 1939 Jacobs Road, for Mrs. Gloria London, 77, known by her friends as “Bun Bun”, who entered eternal life on Sunday August 19, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown.  Mrs. London was born January 10, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA. a daughter of Rufus Sr. and Gladys Lunsford Harley.  She was a graduate of North High School in 1959 and had been employed as Chief of Transportation for 40 years at North Side Hospital, retiring in 2006.  She was a faithful member of Reed’s Chapel where she served in the kitchen ministry, honorary missionary and was a Steward.  She loved doing needlepoint and gardening.  She loved being with her family and was a member of AARP.                         

She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy a sister Carol Harley of Tampa, FL.; a daughter Carole Croom Stanford; her stepson Jerry III (Betty) London both of Youngstown; four grandchildren Tia and Archie Stanford III Jerry London IV and Jerrine London all of Youngstown; an adopted grandson Oliver Briggs and best friends, Charles and Viola Rounsaville ,  Joyce Tucker Paul and Joyce Eley all of Youngstown.

Besides her parents and step-father who reared her Henry Croom,  she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry London Jr. whom she married  September 27, 1980, and he passed away July 22, 1999; a brother Rufus Harley Jr.;  a step-brother Bridgette Croom; step-sister Cora Lee Jones; son-in-law Archie Stanford Jr.  and a niece Bridgette Harley.  Friends may call one hour prior to the services 10-11:00am at the church.  Arrangements were entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
