Evelyn Clay Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn McKinney Clay, 76, of Youngstown, Ohio departed this life Saturday morning October 27, 2018 at Canfield Medical Center.
Evelyn was born to Willie G. and Carrie B. Bryant McKinney on July 28, 1942 in Manchester, GA. She came to Youngstown at a young age, where she graduated from East High School in 1960. She was a homemaker, furniture upholstery, and a home health aide.
Evelyn married, the love of her life, Solomon Clay II on August 22, 1960 and three sons were born to this union.
She loved to travel, cook, play cards and bingo. She also enjoyed being with family.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: two sons Thomas Clay and Frank Clay both of Youngstown; one sister Anna McKinney-Grhim, three brothers Willie(Becky) McKinney, Jerry McKinney, and Randolph(Sharon) McKinney all of Youngstown. She also leaves eight grand-children and twenty-six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Solomon Clay II; father Willie G. McKinney; mother Carrie B. McKinney; son Solomon Clay III; and two great-grandchildren Brandon Jr. and Rashod Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, November 5, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m.
