Services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Temple Emmanuel SDA Church for Mrs. Ethel Mae Anderson, 94, of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Park Vista Rehabilitation Center. 

Mrs. Anderson was born March 15, 1923 in Columbus, GA, a daughter of Jessie and Emma Adams Henry.  Ethel was a former member of Union Baptist Church, and presently a member of Temple Emmanuel SDA Church, where she served as head usher of the Senior Usher Board, instructor for the youth ushers, Prayer Team, Director of the Sensational Seniors Group, Teacher’s Aide at the Lakeside Seventh Day Adventist School, and worked with the Food Distribution ministry.  Ethel loved the Lord and enjoyed working in the church.  A loving homemaker, she had a passion for walking, enjoyed drawing, music, cooking, gardening, shopping and traveling.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory a son, Milton Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Frae of Ann Arbor, MI; 11 grandchildren;  21 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren;  Alethia Barham of Youngstown whom she reared;  son-in-law, Luther Flanagan of MD; daughter-in-law, Shirley Anderson of North Jackson; and a host of spiritual sons and daughters residing all over the country, as well as other family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Anderson, Sr. whom she married in 1942 and who passed away in 1980; a son, Darryl Anderson; a daughter Sonja Flanagan; and her brother, Jessie Henry Jr.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
