Eric L. Somerset

Services will be Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Morris Chapel A.M.E. Church, 926 Darr Ave., Farrell, PA, for Mr. Eric L. Somerset, 68, of Farrell, who passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

            Mr. Somerset was born December 20, 1949 in Sharon, PA, a son of Fred and Berthel Taylor Somerset.  He was a 1969 graduate of Farrell High School and had worked as a shipper with Cumming Industries, retiring in 2011.  Eric was a  volunteer at the Prince of Peace Soup Kitchen.  He enjoyed cooking and was known for his “Big E’s Seasoned Hot Nuts” (peanuts, raisins, M&M’s and Pretzels);  He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

            He leaves to cherish his beloved memories, a stepson, Jamie Bess of Goosecreek, S.C.; three brothers, his twin, Ernie (Charlotte) Somerset of Farrell, PA, Williard (Audrey) Somerset of Harrisburgh, PA and Carl Somerset of Sharon, PA.  his fiance’, Deborah Ellebie of Farrell, PA; two godchildren, Ernest J. Somerset of North Carolina and Corwin “Nikki” Somerset of Farrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his Parents; a sister, Delores Somerset; and a brother, Milton Somerset.

            Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio.
