Mrs. DeRotha Jones, 87, of Youngstown peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.

Mrs. Jones was born February 1, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of Otis Sr. and Lois Green Woods.  She was a 1948 graduate of East High School, and a 1956 graduate of Turpins School of Cosmetology.   DeRotha continued on to become a self-employed cosmetologist, retiring in 1999.  She was a member of Assembly In Truth Ministry, where she served as a deaconess, was co-founder of the church and a devotional-spiritual leader.  She also served on the Board of Elections as a poll worker for a number of years.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her brother, Daniel N. Woods of Campbell; two grandchildren, La’Teese (Jordan) Riddle-Pegues of Youngstown and Natetay Jones-Logan of Girard; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Jones; two brothers, Otis Woods, Jr. and Harold Woods; and her sister, Mary F. Holt.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m.
