Cornelius Sherman

Services will be 12 Noon Friday December 7, 2018 at L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Cornelius Sherman, 79, of Youngstown, who departed this life December 1, 2018 at Briarfield at Ashley Circle. 

Mr. Sherman was born August 4, 1939 in Lundale, West Va. a son of James and Margie Sherman.  He had been employed at LTV Steel until the mills closed and then he worked for WKBN in the maintenance department.  He was of the Baptist Faith and loved fishing, listening to music and was an avid Cleveland Sports fan.  He loved being with his family and family gatherings.             

He leaves to cherish his memories and rejoice in his peace, two sons, Cornelius (Julie) Strozier of Girard and Lamont Strozier of New Castle, PA.; their siblings whom he reared,  Roscoe Pearce, Angela Williams, Milas Strozier, Joseph (Rebecca) Strozier and Michael Strozier; three sisters, Yvonne Jones, Patricia and Josephina Sherman; a brother, Jackie Sherman; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews other family and friends.                                              

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margie Sherman; two brothers; Josh and Art Sherman; a sister, Irma Walker; and his loving companion, Roberta Pearce Strozier.

 Friends may call one hour prior to the services 11:00am-12 Noon.
