Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Greater Friendship Baptist Church for Minister Claudie Marion Moyer, 79, of Youngstown, who departed this life Monday, May 7, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Min. Moyer was born December 9, 1938 in Sherill, Arkansas, a son of Claude and Corstella Lee Moyer. He was a graduate of Merrill High School in Arkansas and was a student of Bible Studies in Cleveland. He had worked with J & L Steel in Cleveland, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as an associate minister and sang in the Male Chorus. He was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memories, his devoted wife, the former Annetta Miller, whom he married August 19, 2017; three daughters, Beverly (Richard) Mosley and Teresa (Courtney) Leslie both of Cleveland, and Lisa Moyer of Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Anthony (Linda) Moyer of Cleveland and Claude Moyer of Atlanta, GA; a stepdaughter, LaTasha Strozier of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Mary (Claude) Sanders of Kansas City, KS and Barbara (Willie) Mays of Warrensville Hgts; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of family, church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara Moyer; a son, Jerry Jemison; and a brother, Oscar L. Moyer.
