Public viewing for Mrs. Cheryle Lynn Austin, 63, will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2017 at L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home. She entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 26 at the Cleveland Clinic.

Mrs. Austin was born April 28, 1954 in Campbell, a daughter of Wilton Rupert.  She was a 1972 graduate of The Rayen High School, and was employed as an electrician for 37 years at General Motors. Which she had just retired from in July this year. Mrs. Austin found joy in knitting, crocheting, completing crossword puzzles and scrapbooking. She will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Robert Austin Sr., of Youngstown; one son, Robert (Alecia) Austin Jr., of Columbus; one daughter, Cherie Austin, of Columbus; three brothers, Wilton (Norma) Rupert, Tim Rupert, and Nate Minor; three sisters, Ethel Whipple, Ginger Cohen and Gail (Walter) Williams; two grandchildren, Julius Robert Preston and Kennedy Austin, both of Columbus; and a host of loving in-laws, other family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; her stepmother, Rose Rupert, whom helped rear her; a brother-in-law, Levi Whipple; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Austin; a mother-in-law, Earlie Mae Austin and father-in-law Earnest Austin.

A memorial service will be held after the viewing Saturday  from 4 to 6:00 p.m. at Reeds Chapel AME Church, 1939 Jacobs Rd.
