Billy G. Howell

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Billy Gene Howell, 82, of Bronx, New York formerly of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in New York.

            Mr. Howell was born September 25, 1937 in Dublin, Georgia, a son of Henry W. and Ruby Smith Howell, moving to the Youngstown area in 1943.  He attended Youngstown City Schools and then joined the U. S. Air Force.  After being discharged from the Air Force, he moved to New York and began working for the New York Transit System as a conductor, retiring after 35 years of service.

            He leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other, Etta Brown of New York; his sisters, Helen McLane, Barbara (Jerome) Heriot, Linda Howell and Carol Howell all of Youngstown; his extended family, Lisa Rozier of Georgia whom he reared, Robert Brown and Earnest Rivers both of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

            Besides his parents, he was preceded death by his sister, JoAnne McClendon.

            Friends may call Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
