Barbara Jean Jones

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 485 Redondo Rd., Youngstown for Mrs. Barbara Jean Jones, 71, of Columbus, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018.

            Mrs. Jones, was born May 18, 1947 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Ozella Peterson Cunningham.  She was a 1965 graduate of South High School.  She had been employed with Service Master for over 20 years and had also worked in the past for Tamco and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.  She was a former member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church and a present member of the Lord of Life Fellowship Church in Columbus.  She enjoyed word search puzzles, Family Feud and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

            She leaves to mourn her passing, but to rejoice in her peace, her beloved husband, Willie Nathaniel, whom she married June 12, 1965; three children, Wanda Jones of Hubbard, Willie N. Jones II of Youngstown; and Sonia Jones of Columbus; 10 grandchildren, Jajuan, Ramont, Denzel, Travon, Shawanda, Shalaya, Kiele, Sable, Keith and Skylar; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Lyons of Youngstown; two brothers, Raymond (Lavonne) Cunningham of Cleveland and Jay (Betty) Cunningham of Texas; and a host of nieces, nephew, other family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roy Cunningham.

            Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
