Archie Stanford

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday June 8, 2018, at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Archie Stanford Jr.,60, who departed this life June 1, 2018.
Mr. Stanford was born Jan. 15, 1958, in Youngstown, a son of Archie Sr. and Roberta Taylor Stanford.
He was a 1976 graduate of South High School and had attended ITT Technical School, where he received an Associate Degree in Accounting.
He was a boxing champ for Tomez’s Buckeye Golden Gloves, served as secretary for Tommy Warren No. 5 Masonic Lodge, loved western movies, fishing and boxing, and his hobbies included metal and wood working. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Cavaliers fan. He had a great love for family and friends. In his youth, he was a member of a singing group known as the Little Attractions. He had been employed for over 20 years at Syro Steel as an assistant foreman.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Darlene Lewis; his children, Tia and Archie III Stanford, both of Youngstown; three sisters, Diane Hooks Hairston of Massachusetts, Marilyn Miller of Akron and Rose Hooks of Youngstown; his caregiver and first wife, Carol Stanford of Youngstown; his best friend, Dania Gillam Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Jean Haskins.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
