Alan M. "Skee" Rouse

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday July 6, at L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Alan “Skee” Rouse who departed this life Thursday, June 28, 2018. 

Mr. Rouse was born March 19, 1943 in Youngstown the son of Forrest and Quinca Morgan Rouse.  He was a graduate of Struthers High School where he excelled in football and baseball.  He was an Army Veteran. He retired from Ohio Edison after over 35 years of service. He was a former member of St. John AME Church in Struthers.  He loved restoring older cars. He played baseball for the semi-pro leagues for over 25 years including Margaret Linton, Tiki Lounge, Youngstown Hard Hats and Soul Gents where he served as vice president. He was the Founder and C.E.O. of T.Q. E. Productions. He married the love of his life the former Ann Tate on his birthday March 19, 1966.   

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Ann Tate Rouse, four daughters,  Alanne Rouse, Alisa Rouse Robinson (David) and Angela Rouse Rodriguez (David) all of Campbell and Annette Rouse Travis of Youngstown; two sisters, Jean Vines and Beverly “Peg” Willis both of Struthers; a brother John Rouse of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren, Alan II (Ashlea), Tasha Mare’, Anthony(Mariah), Tranae (LaRontae), Morgan, DaRon (Krista), Jalis, Elijah, Alana, NyAsia and Alissa;  8 great-grandchildren; Makenzie, TyJuan Jr., Alaila, Azalea, Kamron,  Aiden, Jaiden, Alonzo; and  waiting the arrival of Aliya and Baby Murray; a godson Kevin Darby Jr. (Joyce) of Indiana; an aunt, Barbara Jean Bell; brother-in-Law, John Tate; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.                                

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, niece and two great-nephews. 

Friends may call on Thursday evening, July 5th  from 5-7:00 p.m.; and on Friday one hour prior to the service 10-11:00am at the funeral home.  The family would like to thank the staff at Briarfield Manor; Dr. Nallapeneni and Dr. Doe.
