Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Mr. William Dawan, 69, who departed this life Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Dawan was born December 25, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of William E. and Pauline E. Redman Burton. He was a graduate of South High School and veteran of the U.S. Navy. He spent majority of his life working in the steel and maintenance industry. Mr. Dawan was an all-around athlete as a marathon runner and cyclist. He was an avid Cleveland Brown’s fan and will be deeply missed by all.
He leaves to cherish is beloved memory, his wife, Vera Dawan of Youngstown; one daughter, Paula (Robert) Clay of Mo.; two sons, Jason (Tamika) Dawan, of Campbell and Brian Dawan, of Youngstown; two sisters, Constance E. Redman Evans of Farrell and Wadeeah Muhammad of Austintown; five grandchildren, Ethan Clay, Bobbi Clay, Jaisah Dawan, Dawan Bebbs and Daquan Bebbs; a mother-in-law, Ellen Hubbard-Axel; four brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; a dear uncle, Ellis Redman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas Redman; one niece, Deidra Evans; and a brother-in-law, Richard Chislom.
