Services were held Tuesday, August 22 ,2017 at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mrs. Virginia McRae, 91, of Youngstown who entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 17, 2017 with her family at her side.

Mrs. McRae was born November 29, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Sanford and Myrtle Lee Williamson Gidney.  A loving homemaker, Virginia had worked at Livingston’s Department Store; and was a member of Reed’s Chapel A.M.E.  Church.

Her husband, Hosea, whom she married January 16, 1946, passed away November 22, 1998.

She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, her son, Allen McRae of Houston, TX; her brother, Deacon Willard (Michele) Gidney of Youngstown; a brother-in-law, Lee T. Rucker, Sr. a host of “children” she mentored; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, two sisters, Hazel Anderson, Marion Rucker; a brother, Warren Gidney; and a nephew, Rev. Lee T. Rucker, Jr.
