A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Robert O. Hunt 76, of Orwell, OH, will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Rd, Niles, Ohio 44446. Mr. Hunt departed this life Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Hospice House in Poland, OH.
Mr. Hunt, affectionately known as “Bobby”, was born October 25, 1941 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a son of Charles Sr. and Elizabeth Harris Hunt. He was a 1959 graduate of East High School. He was a U. S. Steel Corporation retiree, and was presently employed with Don King Productions, Inc. and foreman of the training camp in Orwell for over 30 years. Bobby ministered to boxers from around the world, some who had never been to church, and he would take them to church. He was more than just a foreman and overseer, he was a “gift”.
He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church and it’s Men’s Ministry. Bobby loved reading the Bible, music, watching western movies and boxing. Bobby was easy going with a humorous personality, and a humble spirit.
He leaves to forever cherish his memories, his son, Robert Bryan Hunt; a sister, Alicia and her husband, James Backus; two brothers, Larry Hunt, Jimmy and his wife, Burma Hunt all of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Antwan J. Hunt and Christian Hattendorf; a great grandson, Joel Hunt; and a host of family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents: a grandson, Bryan A. Hunt; two sisters, Jacqueline Austin and Veronica Taylor; and two brothers, Charles Hunt, Jr. and Frederick Hunt.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
