Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at The Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Mack Addison Beck, 84, of Youngstown, who departed this life on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Beck, affectionately known as “Sammy”, was born October 22, 1932 in Fostoria, Alabama, a son of Mack and Sealie Hester Beck. Had been employed with General Motors Lordstown, retiring in 1987. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a former usher. He was also a former member of the Masonic Order. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and western movies, an avid Cleveland Browns fan, but most of all he loved being with all his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He leaves to mourn his passing, but to rejoice in his peace, six children, Gregory (Rhonda) Beck, Lynda Hughes (Claude) Bowman, Arthur Beck, Gwendolyn (Frank) Feagins, Charles (Anita) Beck all of Youngstown, and Barbara Beck Culp of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Williams; 27 grandchildren; 85 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; his siblings, Lola Craig, Walter (Ida Mae) McGhee, Janie Mae (Lee Arthur) Perdue, Dorothy McGhee and Hezekiah McGhee all of Alabama, Billy (Gail) Beck of Warren, and George (Fannie) Tarver of Youngstown; and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lorene Jenkins; second wife, Judy Jefferson Beck; children, Mack “Fella” Beck, III, Willie “Shavey” Jenkins; siblings, Emma Mae Middleton, John and James McGhee; 1 granddaughter; and two great granddaughters.
Friends may call Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
