            Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Greater Friendship Baptist Church for Mrs. Geneva B. Reynolds, 94, of Newnan, GA, formerly of Youngstown who passed away Monday, October 23, 2017.

            Mrs. Reynolds was born May 15, 1923 in Uniontown, Alabama, a daughter of Luke and Rebecca Parker Banks, coming to this area in 1949.  She was a graduate of Mongalia High School and West Virginia University.  For 30 years, Geneva taught in the Youngstown City School System, retiring in 1987.  She was a member of St. Smyrna Baptist Church in Georgia, and a former member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church, its usher and nurses guild ministries, the  finance committee, youth ministry leader and was a Sunday School teacher.  She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Electa Chapter 19, O.E.S., and O.K.O.  Geneva enjoyed sewing, reading, and traveling.

            She leaves to forever cherish and remember her legacy, three children, Gary Reynolds, Sr. of Youngstown, Tanika Reynolds-Clardy of Newnan, GA, and Gary Reynolds, Jr. of Youngstown; 9 grandchildren, including Aleisha R. Reynolds of Newnan, GA, Brian Reynolds of Youngstown and Shantel Thomas of Atlanta, GA whom she reared; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson; two sisters Henrietta Young of Miami, Florida and Lelia Banks of Youngstown; and a host of family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter, whom she married February 20, 1950 and who passed away in 1968; her son, Walter Reynolds, Jr.; three sisters, Bettie Hopkins, Cleo Robinson and Inell Robinson; and three brothers, Louie, Eugene and Wilbert Banks.

            Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
