A memorial service celebrating the life of Deandre Lemar Rucker Sr., 32, who departed this life Aug. 14, at University Hospital in Cleveland, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., today, Aug. 17, at McGuffey Center, 1649 Jacobs Road.

Deandre was born June 8, 1985, in Youngstown, a son of Ulyses II and Estella King Rucker.

He attended Youngstown public schools. He attended the Light House Ministries, loved playing football and classic cars. He was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Cowboys fan.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother of Columbus; his father of Atlanta; a son, Deandre Rucker Jr.; his fiancée, Martia Phifer and her children, Daneiro Phifer and Deonte Stallings; two brothers, Ulyses Neal Rucker III and Jonathan Rucker, all of Youngstown; two sisters, Tyra Rucker of Atlanta and Toniyah Taylor of Columbus; grandparents Ulyses Rucker and Henry and Diane Murray of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Wanda King and Virgie Rucker.

Arrangements were entrusted to the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
